Martin's Photo Diary of a Winter Trip to Canada 2006/2007

Over Christmas and New Year of 2006 - 2007, I spent seven weeks in Western Canada - mainly visiting with family, but also taking photographs (giving my new 5D a second run-out for my money!). The first week was spent in Calgary, with trips up to the Kananaskis area of the Canadian Rockies, and to the Jasper and Banff National Parks; driving along one of the absolutely great scenic highways of the world - but see Chapter 2!!  The rest of the time was spent in Victoria, BC., on Vancouver Island, with various trips to the West Coast beaches around Sooke. A projected trip to the Olympic National Park, in Washington State, could not take place because of heavy snow falls and icy roads. This is a selection of pictures taken on the trip, with some diary notes for each chapter and descriptive notes for each picture.
